Well, i’m sure everyone is officially back in the office after a well deserved holiday break! It will be interesting to see what the accounting industry has install for 2023. If you’d like a bit of lite reading to kickstart your 2023 working year, here’s some of the recent accounting news:

1. Mid-tier accounting firms fight off big four poaching efforts. Funding options widen for SME’s. Australia’s leading mid-sized accounting firms say they are being forced to offer salaries 10 per cent higher than the big four, increase bonuses and speed up promotions to stave off attempts by the top end of town to recruit experienced staff. 2. Accountants have a role to play in the nature crisis. Earlier this year, chief executives from the world’s 10 largest accounting institutes – including Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand – called on accountants to help organisations protect and restore natural resources. Read more.
