The last couple of weeks of Accounting news has been very ‘doom and gloom’ as the PwC fallout dominates the headlines. A bonus of the busy period is that it’s easier to cut out the noise when the work is piling up.

Recently I’ve been spending a lot more time desk-bound staring at a computer and my neck has been suffering. This week (scrolling Twitter) I found a quick 3-minute neck stretching routine that has really helped my neck. Here is the link if it can help you out.

Here is some of the recent accounting news I found interesting:

  • Accountants face fivefold surge in fines for bad behaviour. Accounting body Chartered Accountants ANZ will increase the maximum fine payable for bad behaviour by member firms from $50,000 to $250,000 as part of reforms to its disciplinary process designed to rebuild public confidence in the sector.   • Video - Accounting firms investigated by AFP. The Australian Federal Police is investigating the amount taxpayers are handing over to accounting firms for consulting. Read more.
