29. Accounting bodies tackle 'Accountants Letters'

If you’re wondering where the Accountants Chat newsletter has been for the 2 months, I’ve got good news, it’s back! I took a short break to spend time with my newborn boy. He is my first child and I quickly learnt how little time there is for writing. But now that I’m back into a routine the newsletter is going to be consistent.

This weeks edition is a little short as I ease back into things during this busy time of year.

Let’s look at the important accounting news for the last week:

  • CA, CPA and IPA develop a toolkit to respond to Accountants’ Letters. The three main accounting bodies (CAANZ, CPA and IPA) have joined forces to develop a toolkit for Accountants to respond to “Accountants Letters”. Here is the toolkit.

  • PwC faces its Enron moment. On the facts as they are known, corporate lawyers say PwC could face charges of contractual and equitable confidentiality breaches, most likely exposing the London-based big four partnership to a string of damages payments. Read more.
